PerformanceObserver

A virtual meetup for the web performance community

Why the heck everything is so slow if my server is so expensive?

(see full event)

This session walks through the main server-side bottlenecks that slow down real users and search engines, with a clear focus on TTFB (time to first byte): what typically goes wrong, how to spot it, and what to fix first when time is tight. We’ll run through the tools and checklists I use in production work so you leave with a repeatable way to triage back-end and edge issues, not just another list of front-end tips. At the end, you’ll get a downloadable server-side checklist as a goody.

Alfonso Moure (He/him) is a computer engineer and co-founder and CEO of bigmomo, with a strong focus on server-side performance (SQL, caching, TTFB, infrastructure), among other areas of technical SEO and WPO. He shows how those levers connect to Core Web Vitals and business-critical speed on complex sites. He builds Python custom tooling for his projects.
