Introduction to UX Speed

Sergey Chernyshev will discuss why the Speed of User Experience matters and why we should call Web Performance to UX Speed!
He will show the history of web performance metrics in general, current Core Web Vitals incumbents - a set of metrics most commonly used to measure UX Speed and what you should use for your product.
Sergey will then unveil UX Speed Museum - an interactive exhibit that helps you feel how users feel when they have a slow experience which will hopefully help you on your journey to design and build fast experiences going forward.

Sergey Chernyshev (he/him) is a web technologist with passion for web performance and open source. He works as a Web Performance Engineer on Observatory team at Cloudflare and organizes New York Web Performance Meetup Group, first local community of UX Speed and Web Performance geeks in New York. Sergey is a Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies, specializing in Web Performance and sometimes speaks at local New York events and global conferences.
